espanolEste articulo describe la sintaxis del sujeto gramatical de las oraciones activas del espanol y del frances. Objetivo: describir, comparar y ejemplificar las diferencias sintacticas de la funcion sujeto en ambas lenguas. Un estudio de este tipo es especialmente util para estudiantes y docentes de lenguas y para traductores, pues el conocimiento de las funciones sintacticas propicia la comprension de los demas aspectos gramaticales. Metodologia: se adopto un metodo descriptivo para especificar las propiedades gramaticales y las marcas formales del sujeto en ambas lenguas; establecer las diferencias y, por ultimo, ejemplificar comparativamente tales diferencias. Hallazgos: diecisiete diferencias sintacticas relevantes que ameritan un ejemplo explicativo. Conclusiones: se enfasis en que el sujeto gramatical en el frances es una estructura marcada, pues exige la representacion fonetica. En cambio, en el espanol el sujeto puede estar tacito e incluso nulo. EnglishObjective: To describe, to compare and to exemplify the syntactic differences of the function subject in both languages. A study of this kind is especially useful for students and teachers of languages, and also for translators, since the knowledge of syntactic functions promotes the understanding of other grammatical aspects. Methodology: A descriptive method was adopted to specify the grammatical properties and the formal marks of the subject in both languages; to establish the differences and, finally, to exemplify comparatively such differences. Findings: Seventeen relevant syntactic differences that deserve an explanatory example. Conclusions: It emphasizes that the grammaticalsubject in French is a marked structure, as it requires the phonetic representation. On the other hand, in Spanish the subject can be tacitly implied and even null.
