This dissertation in Psychology aims to understand and analyze the experiences of transgender people in Bogota in relation with the health services used for their transition throughout the sexes- genders. In order to achieve that aim the Critical Discourse Analysis (Van Dijk, 2003) approach in qualitative research was used and it counted on the participation of four transgender people: two transgender men and two transgender women, and four mental health professionals: three psychologists and a psychiatrist. As instruments, two types of in-depth interviews were used, one was applied to the mental health professionals, while the other was applied to the transgender participants. As results of the research it was found that mental health professionals perceptions of sex-gender-desire have an impact on their praxis, the diversity of transition experiences and thepermanent condition of transition, the psychologist office as a place for doubt while the psychiatristoffice as a place for affirmation, the transforming power of hormonal and surgical processes, and the contradictory and strategic role of pathologization in Colombia. For the discussion axis the approaches of authors such as Butler (1990), Coll-Planas (2010), Garcia (2010), Gergen (1992), Preciado (2008), among others, were used to discuss the main findings of the research.
