ABSTRACT Industrial Regeneration: Redevelopment trends from Europe to China between tourism and production Different examples from Europe to China, from King's Cross in London to famous 798 Art District in Beijing, suggest the existence of a third way option for the redevelopment of urban industrial heritage, which consists in its reconversion into productive spaces, being them offices or artists' ateliers, open to a wide range of public and able to attract visitors. In this framework, policymakers should ensure transformations with the double goal of preserve and re-enable the industrial heritage, wheres architects have to mediate between policies and their materialization through strategic planning, innovative thinking, preservation awareness, and good design.
