Social Projection is one of three main processes in Colombian universities and consists in taking actions to improve relevant aspects of communities and organizations in a sustainable way. The Extension Vice Presidency of the University of Magdalena is in charge of promoting and developing this process. However, there are some issues in the following aspects: office‟s organizational dynamics, quality in services offered by the University through this office, uses of intervention actions as research sources, and, performance in project management. Consequently, this paper presents an information technology incorporation process, based on the Soft System Methodology, executed in three projects: one of those in a juridical context and the others in an educational context. The main result of this IT incorporation process is the development of software products to support the following actions: (1) Information management in a research project about the justice offer in Colombia, with Justice and Interior Ministry, (2) the operation of two projects with National Education Ministry, UNICEF and Ecopetrol, and (3) the adaptation of a platform to support project management activities and the execution of training processes to team works of this Vice presidency. The results show improvements in the problematic situations aforementioned and open big doors to develop information technology tools for contributing to sustaining, in time and quality, the impact of social projection actions.
