Over time , the complications that can occur following a Le Fort I osteotomy , the most importance have been given to those affecting patients more deleterious , including vascular and ophthalmic . This led to evolve the technique, through a better understanding of surgical anatomy and biological principles, with the aim of reducing the incidence of such complications. This also carry to focus on other complications constituted as less relevance, including those related to the nasal structures , which have a great impact on postoperative outcomes and quality of life of patients undergoing surgery and thereby references have been made concerning the technique for avoiding complications . Thus the aim of our study was to retrospectively evaluate and describe the nasal endoscopic findings of 11 patients undergoing Le Fort I osteotomy with and without fixation of the nasal septum over a period of 8 months in the service of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Hospital Militar Central , Bogota DC.
