espanolUno de los aspectos mas relevantes en el desarrollo de un gremio cientifico-profesional es el de los premios, entendidos como reconocimientos a los colegas por su trayectoria vital o aportes notables al desarrollo de sus respectivos campos. La psicologia, como ciencia del comportamiento, presenta un antecedente importante de entrega de reconocimientos en diferente orden, destacandose al respecto la American Psychological Association. En America Latina, ha sido pionera de esta tradicion la Sociedad Interamericana de Psicologia, con la entrega desde hace varias decadas de los Premios Interamericanos de Psicologia. A esta ceremonia bienal, se ha unido desde 2005 el Premio “Ruben Ardila” a la Investigacion Cientifica en Psicologia, entregado por la Fundacion para el Avance de la Psicologia a colegas que han demostrado una notable recorrido al servicio de la investigacion cientifica en psicologia. El objetivo del presente articulo es presentar esta reciente tradicion de la psicologia organizada latinoamericana (2005-2015) y reflexionar sobre sus antecedentes e impactos, como aporte para la historiografia de las ciencias del comportamiento en America Latina EnglishOne of the most relevant aspects in the development of a scientific or professional guild is related to awards, un-derstood as acknowledgments to colleagues for their ca-reer or notable achievements for the development of their respective fields. As a behavioral science and profession, psychology offers an important antecedent of several kinds of awards. The American Psychological Associa-tion is remarkable in this aspect. In Latin America, the Interamerican Society of Psychology has been pioneer of awards since several decades ago with the Interameri-can Prizes of Psychology. These Prizes are offered bien-nially during the Interamerican Congresses of Psycho-logy. Since 2005 it has been added to this ceremony the Ruben Ardila Prize, offered by the Foundation for the Advancement of Psychology to colleagues with a distin-guished career in scientific research in psychology. The goal of this article is introducing this recent tradition (2005-2015) of the Latin American organized psycholo-gy, and reflecting about its antecedents and impacts as inputs for the historiography of the behavioral sciences in Latin America
