At the initiative of the Chilean Magazine of Literature, University of Chile, publishers of some Latin American magazines we meet the September 29, 2014 in Santiago de Chile to discuss common policies and ways to support our business. Attendees agree to express our disagreement with the prevailing ways of measuring academic quality of publications, first, privileged administrative and quantitative criteria on the content and, secondly, they tend to ignore their own academic practices humanities, which are different from those of the exact and applied sciences. Therefore, we have decided to sign the following public statement, in whose writing we have worked during the first half of 2015.
