The identities more than objective facts are processes of identification, thus it are dynamic and contingent phenomena that, one assigned, tend to last in time. The identities assign the membership to a collective or group (political, religious, national, local), linking the past of the group with his present and in that way getting a continuity of intersubjective recognition on time. The objective of this investigation is to approach the FARC-EP political identity by the analysis of their own documents, which should provide a better comprehension of the changes and constants of the discourse in it. The FARC-EP is one of the long-live guerrilla in Latin America, the presence on this large period have been incessant despite of the political and strategic changes by-products of the armed conflict. These circumstances make the study of the political identity of the FARC-EP a political phenomenon of the first order while, at the same time constitutes a remarkable challenge to the political science explanatory capacity. This analysis will build upon the hypothesis in which the identity of this group cannot be understand without attending the political changes and the conflict, consequently the relational symbolic articulation of the different elements will be linked the political-institutional dimension and the strategic one.
