Propuesta de un modelo de vivienda rural y saneamiento básico sostenibles, con un enfoque participativo dirigido a comunidades desplazadas por la violencia, estudio de caso Finca La Cristalina
This study analyzes sustainable access to housing and basic sanitation services in a rural village inhabited by displaced people. The farm “La Cristalina” (Vereda Filo Bonito, Corregimiento de Altagracia) in which these communities are located was provided by a national institution – INCODER (Institute of National Rural Development) - for a term of 5 years to promote cattle, agricultural and social activities aiming to improve the community living conditions. The development objective of the project is to identify key aspects such as social networks, cultural traditions and available natural resources in order to reduce costs and promote the capacity of communities to organize. The local community of “La Cristalina” is ready to improve their local capacity for planning and contribute to their own development. The community is integrated by 63 members (including kids and adults) grouped into 9 families. It is expected that with this project everyone’s quality of life, health, and personal dignity could be improved. Housing and sanitation facilities reduce wastewater untreated disposal, and as a result diseases related to lack of hygiene. Moreover, education and cultural traditions could be enrich by ensuring that everyone has access to at least the basic housing and sanitation services necessary for human health and well-being.
