Forest Areas demarcation of hydric sources protection in the Risaralda department (Colombia), is regulated by rule for the autonomous regional corporation of the Risaralda (CARDER) by means of the resolutions 061 of 2007 and 1245 of 1998, This work has been made manually, which implies contradiction an arduous field work out property to property, therefore, decided the tool of systems of geographical information (GIS) as instrument to demarcation those areas more efficient way. This Area established by Project requests called lineal park Otun river” developed by CARDER in the Otun river´s midle basin, that hatches the municipalities of Pereira, Dosquebradas and Santa Rosa de Cabal Through consolidation of an exploratory methodology, it has developed a cartographic model that was applied. In this, found to him bankruptcies in the applicability of the resolutions, represented in the abnormalities of the obtained fringes in the demarcation, where criterions as Slope, Land uses and the cartographic scale, generate substantial changes in the results, by demonstrating an incompatibility of the obtained demarcation and the requests of the project develop by CARDER, therefore those conclusions will be converted in motive of revision of the resolutions of the autonomous regional Corporation.
