The observation and study of the tongue is one of the pillars of the diagnosis of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is an informative text about the aspects of the organism’s subtle yin yang balance, therefore it is important for this text to be apprehended by Traditional Chinese Medicine students. The teaching-learning of the pathological aspects of the tongue, through problem-based learning methodology (PBL), facilitates learning and allows the teacher to establish performances associated with the comprehension, and the generic and specific competences of each level of the master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Starting from the design of PBL type cases and using the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for the learning of traditional Chinese medicine, various of its aspects may be covered. These aspects are presented as problematic situations to solve regarding diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, therapeutic evaluation, disease prevention, and health promotion. This tool will additionally allow learning, comprehending, and contextualizing diverse aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine that revolve around the so-called internal and external pathogens, generation and control cycles, presentation and management of clinical cases according to the superficial or deep energy movement, auriculotherapy, changes in life style, and phytotherapy, among others.
