This work denominated Revision of the environmental component of the Scheme of Territorial Order began from the necessity that the municipalities have of revising and adjusting their Plans of Territorial Order, since this is a requirement established in the Law 388 of 1997, and also a fundamental instrument for planification and territory development. This work is the result of a process developed under the modality of Business Practice, conducing to grade work, with which it’s possible to aspire for the title of Environmental Management. The practice was done with the Regional Information System (SIR), as the organization nucleolus of study. This practice’s main objective was to evaluate the environmental dimension of the Basic Scheme of Territorial Order (EOT) of Marcella, Risaralda Department, to verify the achievement and coherence with the law 388 of 1997. To achieve this objective a method was formulated based on strategic planning, which allows the use of different tools that were identified through method design. This study has three fundamental phases: the first consists of the environmental characterization of the territory, the second is the diagnostic phase of the EOT, and the third is the analysis phase; in these three phases different process where developed in the Marcella municipality, in which a sample is shown of the Municipal reality, based on different aspects like the biophysical, social, cultural, environmental, etc.; also, different municipal indicators where formulated, which turned into an important tool of information for the municipality.
