This research conducted an analysis of the actions of the teachers of rural schools in the municipality of Dosquebradas and its contribution to direct education towards the empowerment of the rural area. The main motivation for this research was based on the desire to know the contribution from the teachers and from their educational actions to raise awareness among students of the importance of their role as actors that can achieve social transformations for the benefit the countryside and its people. The research focused on teaching approach, implemented by the teaching staff of rural institutions, understood from pedagogy assumed by the theoretical Paulo Freire, who takes education as a systematic process of social participation, training, folk practices, and cultural, which ended up generating awareness among students, allowing them to be social transformers, so is expected to know the strategies implemented by the faculty, for the appropriation of the teachings in the student population. In the same degree of discouragement it was evident in the teaching staff to implement strategies of learning that cross the essentially academic and generate an awareness that strengthens the empowerment of rural, thereby enabling a change in the imaginary of the student population the rural municipality of Dosquebradas, because the permeability they are exposed to new technologies.
