Inside the psychology family, the historical-cultural approach does not have a significant presence in contrast with different schools like the behaviorism and psychoanalysis. Nevertheless, their proposal has impacted about diverse areas applied before it was recognize as a psychological approach. The purpose of the research is increase the approach comprehension about a historical perspective in the psychological context in Colombia; for that purpose, we take the Latin American Journal of Psychology as the primary source. The research has a perspective about the history which wants to promote the change through the time. This investigation identify the historical change about the approach using the Latin American Journal of Psychology as the primary source implemented. The methodology implemented in the historical research was based in the science history, more specific about the psychological history, before that, took place the “internalista” model, which is focusing on the intellectual scope and methodological of the science. The “internalista” model has three types of approach. The first one is institutional, the second is social and the final is discourse analysis. The last approach was the emphasis of the investigation, focus on the comprehension about the construction and theoretical reflection of Colombian authors. The analysis is developing into three parts; the first is about the authors of the articles in the Latin American Journal of Psychology, who were published in the journal (1971-2004), in the second part identifies the authors who were the founders of the approach (Luria, Leontiev & Vigotsky) they develop essentials ideas since the twentieth century in the Soviet Union until mid-sixties. Finally, in this part are situating the current authors of this approach, (Gonzalez Rey, Ian Parker, Kozulin, Riviere, and others), who present a contemporary perspective.
