Abstract Arterial dissection as a cause of stroke is uncommon, most commonly presenting in young people sometimes associated with trauma involving hyperextension of the neck as the only history which would suggest the traumatic origin. We present the case report of a young man with posterior stroke whose etiology was a spontaneous dissection of the right vertebral artery. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.21615/cesmedicina.30.1.10
