Processes inadequate occupation of the territory and the increase of the agricultural frontier are conditions that are traditionally found in rural Colombia; This kind of issues, generating environmental impacts which in a context where increasing economic pressures force the population and mainly to the small farmer to intensify their farming practices as the only alternative for survival in the trade, where companies do not count certain standards of competitiveness, are destined to disappear. COOPRAMAR, organization which developed the process outlined in this document, is formed by 107 small farmers in the municipality of Marsella, Risaralda groups mainly producers of avocado, banana, citrus and cocoa in the region, under the premise to achieve a measure of order to allow the market more stable flows to reach individually. However, economic conditions and changing trade, make it increasingly complex productivity gain margins can meet the needs of the rural population without harming the ecosystems significantly related to the productive activities undertaken. Overall, , this does not mean that agricultural systems are per se the cause of environmental degradation of the territories covered by the organization; simply are scenarios in which different situations of a kind (ecological, social, economic and other), whose emergent property is the reduction of conditions of supply of goods and environmental services, either through inability biophysics of the territories or increased costs associated with the production and marketing of products on the market, so as not to represent a level able to meet the needs of the population. This presents the obvious need to target the production and marketing process undertaken by the organization COOPRAMAR to a scenario in which they see few promising policy options are likely to be the guiding behavior of the organization against the market, where alternatives are addressed representing a level of current income better, through the identification of potential conditions that are in the domestic proceedings in addition to exploiting the opportunities that owns the business environment; scenario in which it is possible to develop processes in which a lower environmental impact and this is adopted as a comparative advantage in the sector in which the organization operates.
