Introduccion: actualmente se incluyen como herramientas utilizadas y aplicadas la docencia los medios interactivos; instrumentos de tipo tecnologico con programas informaticos desarrollados para fines didacticos, que buscan la participacion activa del estudiante en la construccion del conocimiento, el cual pasa de ser un actor pasivo frente a su propio aprendizaje, a tener una relacion interactiva, obteniendo calidad educativa en areas especificas del conocimiento, que responde a las necesidades profesionales que le exige la sociedad actual al individuo. El software pedagogico representa la utilizacion del poder de los sentidos en el proceso de exploracion de un entorno, con el objeto de aprender de el, pues conjuga varios medios de emision de la informacion como son el auditivo y el visual. En esta investigacion se pretende evaluar la efectividad de un software pedagogico de tecnicas en instrumentacion quirurgica en cirugia plastica y urologica, buscando de esta forma innovar, introduciendo nuevas tecnologias pedagogicas en el proyecto pedagogico del programa para potencializar el aprendizaje, motivar a los estudiantes para usarlas y tener la capacidad de acceder a nuevos medios, que permitan desarrollar una educacion integral. Metodos: este es un estudio experimental donde se busca evaluar la efectividad de una herramienta tecnologica pedagogica, un ‘software’, con un grupo control. Se realizara una medicion inicial de conocimientos a los dos grupos en la materia del software desarrollado (Grupo A experimental y Grupo B control), se capacita al grupo A con la herramienta pedagogica durante un semestre y al final se evaluan nuevamente los dos grupos con el mismo instrumento disenado y validado especificamente para este fin. Los datos seran tabulados en Excel, en una base de datos creada por los investigadores y alimentada por los integrantes del equipo; el analisis de los datos sera realizado en el programa Stata 3,10. El instrumento sera aplicado a cada una de las unidades de analisis en dos momentos: antes y despues de la aplicacion de un software academico sobre cirugia urologica y plastica, a la poblacion objeto de la investigacion. This investigation seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of a pedagogic software in surgical instrumentation techniques for plastic and urological surgery. It attempts to innovate, by introducing new technologies in the educational system, in order to maximize learning, by motivating students to use these technologies and to have the capability to access new methods that allow the development of a thorough education. Methods: this is an experimental study that seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching tool “software” with a control group. The initial level of knowledge of the students regarding the software developed will be measured in two different groups (Group A - experimental, Group B – control group). Then, group A will be taught with the teaching tool during one semester and at the end of the semester, both groups will be evaluated with the same instrument designed and validated solely for this purpose. The data will be tabulated into Excel, in a data base created by the people conducting the investigation and fed by the team members. The data analysis will be performed by a program called Stata version 3,10, which is the property of the Fundacion Universitaria del Area Andina. The learning technique will be applied to each one of the units of the population designated for this investigation, for analysis at two different times, before and after the application of the academic software in reference to plastic surgery and urological surgery.
