This document is the result of an investigation carried out at Universidad Militar Nueva Granada to obtain the title of Magister in Education. This research aimed to identify how the environmental dimension is included in the training process of biologists from Universidad del Tolima. The research was based on a qualitative and interpretative methodology which was carried out with students, graduates and teachers; as well as a documental analysis of the program’s curriculum. It was necessary to create some categories for data analysis that led to the identification of the different conceptions about environment, Environmental Education between the university community and the degree of curriculum greening in the program. In this investigation it was concluded that there is a need to include in the university curricula the environmental dimension in order to fulfill the national guidelines and provide an integral training for the future professionals.
