The school is the privilege space where speeches are learning and strengthen and allow our students to develop as critical, reflexive and proactive citizens. Identification of the concepts that high school teachers have about argumentation, finding the sense underlying in the practices of the teachers and to verify the manner as those practices influence on the appropriation of this speech from the students were the purposes that guided our journey throught the teaching practices that take place in schools of La Union town, related to argumentation. We found that one of the reasons that does not allow the implementation of a systematic, deliberated practice and design of strategies for argumentation teaching that get to students a reading and understanding of the world around them, was the category that emerged from our findings and we called “Naturalization of the argumentation” Inasmuch as our intention in this research was not to give recipes to teachers about how to address this speech properly at the class room, but also to understand the issue in a deeper way in order to know how to orient it more accurately in the future.
