Most of the technologies used in Colombia for fiber optic communications do not maximize the bandwidth of the optical fiber, by using two fibers for communication. Therefore in this article the development of an optical device used for bidirectional transmission of characters by a single optical fiber shown. The principle of interference filters are used for the construction of these optical transceivers. These were made by coupling optical combiners, LEDs and photo-resistors. The tests were conducted built optical transceivers, obtaining satisfactory results.
