Parte 2: Metodologías de Análisis Espectral en las Formaciones Tablazo - Simití, sección Sáchica (Boyacá), Colombia On the Use of Fourier analysis, Singular Spectral Analysis and Artificial Neural Networks in Stratigraphy. Part 2: Metodological Spectral Analysis in the Tablazo - Simití Formations, Sáchica section (Boyacá), Colombia
This paper deals with the application of Fourier Analysis, Traditional and Neural Singular Spectral Analysis and Artificial Neural Networks to analyze a stratigraphic section from Tablazo and Simiti formations, near Sachica, Boyaca, Colombia. The results obtained indicate that Artificial Neural Networks (Hebbian) combined with Multiple Signal Classificator enhance the discrimination of geological cycles when it is compared with Fourier and Singular Spectral Analysis. The cycles detected using the information obtained from the Sachica section were 50.00m, 27.03m, 19.61m, 14.29m, 10.00m and 5.98m. The 50.00m, 19.61m and 5.98m periodicities are interpreted to be the result of orbital Milankovitch cycles and they correspond to long eccentricity, short eccentricity and obliquity respectively.
