The analysis of the elements associated with territorial cohesion as a source to contribute to its own conceptualization is the subject of this paper, showing the opposition function between territorial cohesion and territorial imbalances. An analysis of territorial cohesion is carried out, considering some of the dimensions of the territorial system leading to its proposed re-definition, the definition that, despite the reductive condition involving, aims to providing exercises producing methodological proposals for its evaluation towards mitigating the territorial imbalances.
