espanolEl derecho a la libertad de expresion tiene un alcance muy amplio en la jurisprudencia de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos. El presente trabajo examina los distintos ambitos de este derecho en el sistema interamericano, y su vinculacion con otros derechos protegidos en la Convencion Americana, como es el caso del derecho a la intimidad y el derecho al honor. Se concluye en la importancia de que la jurisprudencia en esta materia sea conocida y aplicada por los organos jurisdiccionales de los paises de la region. EnglishThe right to freedom of speech has a wide scope in the case law of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. This paper examines the various areas of this right in the inter-American system and its relationship with other rights also protected in the American Convention, such as the right to privacy and the right to honour. We will conclude that case law in this area should be known and applied by the courts of the countries in the region.
