The overall purpose of the article is to make a brief analysis of the characteristics of endogenous development, as theoretical construct that explains the growth of states, from this contextualization. A review of specialized literature in databases such as: Ebsco, Emerald, Scopus, Redalyc, and oficial documents, this review is done in order to establish endogenous development in Latin America. The methodology is qualitative analytical descriptive. The main conclusion of this review is that the theory of endogenous development is the confluence of different visions of development that share the same logical theory as a guideline in development policies. Consequently, in the countries surveyed, the empowerment of social actors in their locality is evidenced by virtue of their actions rooted in their environment that can be differentiating in a world that tends to be globalized.
