A partir de un diseno descriptivo comparativo se caracterizo la motivacion de los estudiantes del grado once del Colegio Americano a traves de un instrumento tipo escala lilket elaborado por los investigadores. Para la orientacion conceptual y metodologica de la investigacion se retomo la teoria motivacional de las atribuciones de Bernard Weiner desde el enfoque de la psicologia cognitiva. Con este estudio se pretende realizar un perfil de los estudiantes con alto y bajo rendimiento academico que conlleve a implementar programas que mejoren los procesos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes. ABSTRACT From a comparative descriptive design the group characterized the motivation ofthe students adolescents ofthe degree eleven ofthe American school through a scale type instrument lilket elaborated by the investigators. For the conceptual orientation and methodological ofthe investigation 1 am taken up again the motivational theory of the attributions of Bernard Weiner since the focus ofthe cognitive psychology. With this study intends to carry out a profile ofthe students with high and low academic performance that involve implementing programs that improve the processes of leaming of the students.
