de Maria is a sub-region located in the Colombian Caribbean, characterized by its great natural and cultural diversity, thanks to its geographical position and its human capital, then, this territory is the mixture of the culture of their ancestors (indigenous, Spaniards and Africans); However, this area is sadly recognized by armed conflict, struggle for dominance and territorial control between illegal forces of extreme right and left and the police. The aim of this paper is to present the cultural tourism as a development alternative and output in the aftermath of conflict to de Maria, as the post-conflict areas need to be recovered, revitalized and put in value by what they truly ; because the natives say, Montes de Maria believe in life in spite of death and therefore should be proposed tourism products as the path through life, which ... is calling us to a community of artisans for life from their diverse arts practices and seeks vital reconstruction of those individuals and communities that have been hit by violence . To accomplish this, a Tourism Inventory of the 15 municipalities of the region was performed using the methodology of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia, to finally propose alternative tourism development, emphasizing the cultural attractions of these rural areas, noting the close relationship between culture and development.
