This paper to analyze absenteeism as resilient attribute in the prison sector. The studywas based on the proposals of Sambrano (2010) and Melillo and Suarez (2004). Theresearch was descriptive-correlational and the design was not experimental transactional field. The population consisted of 69 officers and officers attached to the Ministry ofPopular Power for Correctional Services. The data collection technique used was twoLikert scale type instruments, one for the variable Resilience with 39 items and another 28items for variable absenteeism, both with five alternative answers to these the alphareliability coefficient was applied Cronbach and reliability of r = 0.96 to r = 0.81 VariableResilience to absenteeism indicating that it was obtained are reliable. The results wereanalyzed according to a previously established scale and using descriptive statistics.Where it is clearly evident that there is a high degree of absenteeism, partial absenteeismhas a high average, well above the overall absenteeism (mixed), which is located in themiddle range, indicating that the rate of absenteeism present in the staff of the prisonsector is partial, ie those absences of workers related to disease.
