This paper shows a methodology for fault location in power distribution systems with penetration of distributed generation, based on the concept of the Thevenin equivalent. Fault location is proposed using phase components. As the main new proposal of the presented paper, it considers the static load model at the core definition to improve the performance. The proposed approach was validated on the IEEE 34-node power system, considering single-phase faults having obtained errors lower than 1,597%.
