Caracterización De Cupones Gravimétricos De Acero API 5LX 65 Implantado Por Iones De Nitrógeno E Iones De Titanio Caracterization Of API 5LX 65 Steel Gravimetric Cupons Implanted By Nitrogen And Titanium Ions
Three-dimensional ion implantation in low pressure discharges generated by high voltage rectangular pu lses is used as an alternative technique for advanced superficial trea tments of materials for improving properties associ ated to the structure of the material surface, such as the resistance to corrosion and wear, hardness, among others. The per formance and verification of the properties of the materials tre ated are studied through subjecting to the corrosio n by hydro carbide fluids (hydro carbide industries) by electrochemica l methods of direct currents such as the impedance spectroscopy and the potential-dynamic curve analysis of the gravime trical coupons of 3”xae”x1/8” dimensions made from API 5lX65 steel which are used for hydrocarbide transportation syst ems. The gravimetrical coupons are cleaned by ultra sound in order to eliminate all impurities from their surfaces before the implantation by nitrogen ions and titanium ion s. The superficial treatment is fulfilled in the JUPITER device chambe r through generation of high voltage pulse discharg es of 5 and 10 kV, the frequency of pulses is 30 Hz and the pulse dura tion is 0.40 ms at 20 minutes of exposition. The im planted and no implanted coupons are characterized through the cor rosion rate, potential-dynamic curves and electroch emical impedance spectroscopy tests.
