Evaluación de la respuesta de 60 genotipos de Solanum phureja (Juz. et Buk.) al ataque de la Polilla guatemalteca (Tecia solanivora Povolny) Evaluating the response of 60 Solanum phureja (Juz. et Buk.) genotypes to attacks by the Guatemalan moth (Tecia solanivora Povolny)
The damage to tubers caused by the Gua- temalan moth (Tecia solanivora P.) was evaluated in 60 genotypes from the Solanum phureja species in labora- tory conditions at the Universidad Nacional de Co- lombia. A completely random design was used; ex- periments were repeated five times. A tuber infected with 20 Tecia solanivora eggs was taken as being the experimental unit. The variables measured were per- centage of hatching, percentage of pupation and le- vel of tuber damage. The results led to 12 promising genotypes being selected regarding their tolerance to attack by T. solanivora; these will be studied in greater detail in future work.
