This work reviews different advanced electric motor control strategies, they are mentioned and use nowadays in frequency converters employ in the control of alternating currents motors, mainly of induction motor, emphasizing in close loop speed control techniques, for obtaining their best performance. The studied techniques were the Scalar Control, Vector Control, Sensorless Control and Direct Torque Control (DTC). Finally, were exposed a resume of the general trends in the automated electric drives.
