The investigation counted with fifty families who havemoved to Bogota as a result of the internal conflict. The families were represented by thehead of the family, one of the members of the couple or another adult of the family whohad been in charge of the family group. Data were gathered by means of questionnaires toinquire about: demography, social aspects, and stressful events. Participant observation, field notes, and structured interviews were also used. Data were analyzed quantitativelywith a scale for stressful events finding that the most stressful aspects are cognitive, social, job related, and ways of facing the situation. Social changes areevidenced in the support networks, in the family structure and in job related activities. Finally, at the legal level, in some cases, there is a loss of identity.
