This study was aimed to interpret the underlying concepts and teaching styles in practices of teachers in the Far East of Antioquia Department, Colombia, who work in different educational levels. The research is part of a mixed research approach non–experimental, exploratory and transversal. The claim interpretation that has allowed this study to characterize the pedagogical styles of teachers, strategies and procedures (media and mediations) most used by teachers, making inferences about the skills, abilities and skills that individuals possess leading training and educational processes. It was concluded that in teaching practice are deployed and built significant knowledge, professional profiles are specified and developed curriculum proposals. In this sense, it is recommended that teacher qualification programs ensure the quality of curricula, pedagogical, methodological and research, promoting the possibility of theorizing and research around concepts, methods and renewed practice.
