Despite the vast amount of studies on Le Corbusier, it is surprising that there are only scant reflections on the role that Pierre Jeanneret played in a work that, for the large part, can be understood as a joint project. The existing literature on Pierre Jeanneret cannot be d=escribed as anything more than paltry. This reaffirms the image of a figure which seems rather enigmatic and always in the shadows. In this article three key factors of his work will be considered; his professional development, his relationship with Le Corbusier, and his work in Chandigarh.
