Colombia is one of the leading producers of coffee in the world, and the department of Huila, is the leading producer, with a total of 126,714 tons of coffee annually, contributing 27% of the total coffee production in Colombia. It is also the leading producer of specialty coffees from Colombia, which are totally organic coffees without using any chemical. Therefore coffee is one of the principal axes of the economy of the region, following this, we could conclude that an information system that allows the coffee sector better manage farms, generate increased production of coffee and so enhance the economy of the region. That's why we developed a research project main objective is the development of an information system for managing these coffee farms in Huila, based on administrative processes that these follow. The information was collected, conducting several surveys and interviews with farm managers, identifying their needs. Results showed five modules which are respectively, lot, purchase of materials, product sales, hiring and paying employees.
