Directrices y estrategias territoriales para la consolidación de una política pública de abastecimiento alimentario para las ciudades de Villamaría y Manizales
In terms of food supply, the demands of market globalization and the persistence of the latest models of development and economic growth in the country are supported by the limited interpretation made of the concept of food security, especially the axes of availability and access, where it is apparently “cheaper to import food than to produce it locally; or that the important thing is that the shelves of distribution sites are full to offer them to the consumer ”. This has led us to think first of supplying external markets with raw materials of agricultural origin (coffee, sugar cane, fruits, cocoa, palm oil, tobacco, among others), and has marginalized the importance of supplying local food needs with internal production, a situation that paradoxically facilitates the importation of food and other consumer products (corn, rice, wheat, bananas, fruits, coffee, vegetables, beans, peas, among others).
