It was performed a descriptive study on 134 women of reproductive age (15 to 44) of the economically depressed areas of the urbane zone of San Roque (Antioquia). It were evaluated some characteristics related with the obstetric history like age, condition, level of instruction, number of domiciliary deliveries, number of abortion. The findings were a high frequency of high-risk obstetric factors. Finally it was made a commentary about the need to integrate three aspects to control perinatal mortality: health education, prenatal control and adequate attention of the delivery.
