Comparación De Las Percepciones Del Líder Ideal De Los Sectores Financiero Y Comercial De Colombia Utilizando El Inventario De Prácticas De Liderazgo De Kouzes Y Posner (Comparison of the Receptions of Ideal Leader of the Financial and Trade Sectors in Colombia, by Using the Inventory of Leadership of Kouzes and Posner)
The present study shows the results of two studies using the same instrument in two sectors of the Colombian economy, financial and commercial sectors. The instrument used was the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) developed by Kouzes and Posner. All surveyed answered the question about behavior expectations of people that they consider an ideal leader. In order to achieve this objective, the LPI was modified. The results suggest that the leaders of the financial sector have higher expectations than the leaders of the trade sector. Overall, all surveyed expected that their leaders empower their performance. As for the other practices or behaviors, expectations in the two sectors vary significantly, while financial industry leaders expect from their ideal leaders to set the example and be a motivation, the trade sector expect the ideal leaders to challenge processes and inspire a shared vision.
