Activities in the Area of Food Production And its Impact on the Environment (Las Actividades En El Área De Producción De Alimentos Y Su Incidencia En El Medio Ambiente)
Tourism as a social and multiple phenomena involves a series of several activities, some of them with impact on the environment. Within those activities we find hotel activities with their infrastructure and customer service network. This research aims at establishing to what extent venezuelan hotels help preserving the environment. The study is of theoreticalpractical nature used to establish to what extent venezuelan hotels help preserving the environment. Three hotels of the capital city were analyzed using the Health Instrument designed by the Ministry of Health and Social Development (1980) that determines the percentage of effectiveness of each aspect, based on damages. The results determine a 60.49% average percentage of effectiveness. The main conclusion is that no tacitly stated actions were observed to counteract the environmental impact from activities carried out in the food production area, where an important problem is that referred to personnel working in those facilities and who requires induction workshops by hotel management to sensitize people about environment-related problems.
