Interfirm cooperation processes are becoming increasingly important in so far, as they are associated with enterprise performance indicators and have proven to be good predictors for the socioeconomic development of regions. Based on above, we review networking processes like industrial districts, clusters and business networks. Similarly, we describe projects, programs and initiatives both internationally and nationally which promote networking process implementation. The article also develops the innovation’s notion in function and as a result of networking processes and finally, it made some reflections and future directions around the notion of networking processes from complex networks approach.
