The present work of investigation is divided into three main chapters. The first one corresponds to the State of Art and the Theoretical Framework, where it is clearly the most relevant studies related to the process of women participation at the District Level (Bogota). The second part of the chapter corresponds to the analysis of the gender approach, which was used in this investigation according to studies realized by Nancy Fraser and Judith Astelarra among others.The second chapter makes reference to the process of building Politica Publica de Mujeres y Equidad de Genero en el Distrito Capital, and El Plan de Igualdad de Oportunidades, showing the incidence of the public policy s, managers while demonstrating the different processes that were carried out for this purpose. Finally, the last chapter seeks to show the whole process of advocacy and participation of women in the public policy formulation, as well in the implementation of this policy in various localities of Bogota, using as a basis the testimonies of some local leaders of the District. The next part of this chapter shows the whole process that has been developed in the District with regard to the mainstreaming of the gender in the policies approach, showing some progress and the challenges. Last but not least, this chapter seeks to perform a stock of as has been the process of participation and representation of women in Bogota during the period of 2004-2011 based on the reports thrown by the Alcandia Mayor de Bogota.
