The teaching - learning - evaluation of the natural sciences as has been handled in recent decades is not significant, since the students learn by rote and in the best cases for comprehensive memory the contents that the teacher verbally transmitted, as an knowledge scientific already apparently built (Quintanilla, 2005), without considering the context, cultural needs in the midst of the concepts which have emerged over the history of science and preconceptions that students have about a particular concept. This has led to an ahistorical view of science, as if scientific concepts and phenomena are generated unchanged over time. Hence the need to influence the preconceptions of students in the learning of abstract concepts, controversial and multiple interpretations as biological inheritance. (Finley et al.,1982). Under this scenario the question to solve is: ? How to influence the students' conceptions about biological inheritance using some episodes in the history of science concept? Then, it is assumed that knowing and understanding how the concept occurs historically differently for guiding the learning process by designing an educational proposal that affects students' conceptions of creating a meaningful learning. This requires understanding how it develops and strengthens the concept of biological inheritance from historical analysis of the concept in which to identify the explanatory models were the main theories in the past helped explain the concept, just as epistemological obstacles, ie all the attitudes that prevented the development of scientific knowledge. In addition to influence students' conceptions is required to explore their thinking about the concept, the process allows for a certain parallel between these ideas and explanatory models found. From this perspective the contributions of history and epistemology are relevant to education because it may be expected with the current explanations of the concept, text analysis and inquiry teaching of educational experience designing and sequencing of an educational proposal that will students in the construction of school science concept.
