This article presents the evolution of the General System of Social Security of Health in Colombia, showing its recent history and allowing to the reader the understanding of its structure, laws and composition. At the same time, it tries to question, the mistakes and evident contradictions which have done a system that currently is not working in a suitable way. Without trying to argue, only, to contribute and to develop the complexity, it looks for understand that the education to the different actors would propose not only an important improvement, but also would allow the construction of a more viable and efficient system.
