The use of panoramic radiographs as diagnostic aid in maxillofacial surgery and many dental areas has become a tool that evaluates the mandible in its entirety. This allows to identify asymmetries in patients with mandibular condylar hyperactivity, sequelae of hemifacial microsomia, the presence of osteomas and chondromas among other pathologies. Currently there are no clinical, radiographic and tomographic studies report the incidence of mandibular asymmetry in a given population.
