Elzunia humboldt (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae) has been recorded in mid-elevation forest of Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador. Recently Salazar and Constantino (2007) described the subspecie E. humboldt quinduensis. This article provides the distribution record and information about the natural history of this subespecies in Quindio. During April 2013 three individuals were collected in forest remnants from La Mariela, Municipality of Pijao, Quindio, at elevations between 1,740 and 1,900 masl. One of the specimens was used as a reference and deposited in the entomology collection of Quindio Botanical Garden, while the other two were placed in breeding cages with host plant. Courtship, copulation and oviposition were observed and notes about behaviour and immature stages were recorded.
