Este trabajo es parte de mi tesis de maestria en Estudios del Caribe. Plantea un estudio acerca de la configuracion socio-historica del Caribe y las relaciones dialogicas de las poeticas de la region y la literatura de Occidente. El analisis estudia la existencia de un sustrato cultural comun a todas las sub-regiones del Caribe, que es responsable de la existencia de lazos entre las distintas poeticas de cada sub-region. Asimismo, analiza las relaciones de Omeros (1990) de Derek Walcott, poeta antillano nacido en Santa Lucia, y de la obra poetica de Alvaro Miranda, poeta del Caribe colombiano, con una rica tradicion heretica de los poetas caribenos predecesores y las relaciones de sus poeticas con temas cruciales de la literatura del Caribe como la revision de la historia oficial y la validacion del paisaje de la region. ABSTRACT This paper is part of my research work to get my master’s degree in Caribbean studies. It analyzes the socio-historical configuration of the Caribbean and the relationships between the poetics of the region and western literature. The analysis studies the existence of cultural basis common to all Caribbean sub-regions that generates links among all Caribbean poetics. It also analyzes the relationships of Walcott’s Omeros, an Antillean poet who was born in Saint Lucia, and the poetic works of Alvaro Miranda, a Colombian Caribbean poet, and a rich heretic tradition of previous Caribbean poets, as well as the relationship between their poetics and the crucial themes of Caribbean literature such as the revision of history and the validation of the region’s landscape.
