This article analyzes the why, how and where of the Bogota catholic associations between 1863-1885, considering them as entities that served as spaces for political participation, besides its religious and charity work. New forms of organization and action were generated from there accompanied by alternative proposals and ideas. Specifically, this paper focuses on the following societies: San Vicent de Paul, the Catholic Youth, Sacred Heart of Jesus, and Daughters of Maria, considering that All of these catholic organizations were integrated by the top members of the Bogota society.
