Abstract:

An atypical coloration of a common Turdidae blackbird (Turdus fuscater) which was observed and registered photographically in a natural grassland in the Municipality of Roncesvalles, Colombia is described. The depigmentation of this individual was white and it covered mainly the head until the medium part of the body and the rest of the coloration in the back is typical. The abnormally pigmented feathers were partially or totally white, and the contrary occurred with the eye, the ocular ring, the beak, and the legs that have the normal pigmentation of this species. Is it feasible that this abnormal chromatic pattern is considered as a case of incomplete or partial leucism.
