This study aims to characterize the various perceptions of a group of teachers of rural institutions over the use of ICT in their teaching practices. Qualitative research approach was used. Research design was based on a case study, and focus groups and life stories as data collection techniques were used. An interpretive exercise was conducted with content analysis on emerging texts, investigating emerging categories. The population being studied was constituted by rural teachers aged between 24 and 58, with a sample of 50 individuals from educational institutions of Boyaca and Cundinamarca. One of the conclusions is the importance of recognizing teachers as political subjects, and as subjectivity bringing power. It follows, then, the importance of greater autonomy and decision making abilities on curricular content as a strategy to channel fears and strength change desires.
