A new discipline at the end of the 20th century has appeared linked to the field of biomedicine, due in part to the biotechnological advances. This discipline is called Bioethics. Different authors thinking coming from varied disciplines and not only the proper bioethicists, have been incorporated, either to give base to the Bioethics or as an input on different issues dealing with the same rich bioethics discussions. Work performed by Michel Foucault around concepts such as biopolitics, subject, self-care, care of the other, resistance, freedom, subjectivaion, biopower and even his position against the current of humanism can enlighten discussions about bioethical issues today. This thesis is focused on some of the Michel Foucault mentioned concepts and analyses its possible inputs to Bioethics field.
